Crawlable privacy policy
Effective date: 2026-10-08
Crawlable does not collect, send, share or sell any personal or browsing data, and it does not run any servers of its own.
What the extension does with data
- When you activate Crawlable from the toolbar or with its keyboard shortcut, it reads the HTML of the current tab only. It then requests that page's URL once more to get the HTML the server returns, so it can compare the two.
- The results are kept in your browser's extension storage so the report tab can display them. Older reports are deleted automatically, and session data is cleared when you close the browser.
- Your theme and report-language preferences are saved in local extension storage.
What the extension does not do
- It includes no analytics, telemetry, tracking or advertising.
- It has no accounts and contacts no remote servers. The only network request is the re-fetch of the inspected page from its own origin.
- It loads no remote code. All scripts, fonts and libraries are bundled with the extension.
- It accesses a page only when you invoke it on that tab.
Permissions
activeTab: temporary access to the tab where you invoke the extension.scripting: runs the function that reads the page in that tab.storage: keeps reports and preferences locally in your browser.
